Performance creative

Creative work designed around a defined objective and a measurable learning process.

The long definition

Performance creative is an approach that connects creative decisions to a defined outcome and a learning process. It starts with a viewer situation, a message, and a hypothesis, then uses relevant observations to decide what to improve.

The objective may be qualified attention, engagement, visits, or purchases, depending on the distribution and data available. Good visual execution still matters, but it serves a clear purpose. A metric is useful only when its source, comparison, and limitations are understood.

Anatomy: Performance creative

Turn a creative idea into a question you can investigate.

  1. 01ObjectiveChoose one outcome for the video.
  2. 02HypothesisExplain how the message might support that outcome.
  3. 03ExecutionCreate a clear demonstration and next step.
  4. 04LearningReview the evidence and plan the next variant.

A concrete example

Illustrative scenario · product comparison

“Does showing the size in use help viewers choose a model?”Build one video around the size comparison and define the relevant observation before publishing.

The creative has a specific question and a clear demonstration. Whether it improves the outcome requires actual data.

Do

  • Define the objective before editing.
  • Keep the hypothesis explicit.
  • Use metrics available for the actual channel.

Don't

  • Choose a metric after seeing the result.
  • Treat visual polish as proof of performance.
  • Claim conversion from public views alone.

How Reacast uses this concept

Use your Reacast brief to state the objective, audience situation, and hypothesis. Keep them available when reviewing the creation and planning a subsequent variant.
