The long definition
UGC means user-generated content: material created by users, often showing how they experience a product. In marketing, “UGC-style” also describes commissioned creator videos that use direct speech, everyday settings, and personal demonstrations.
These origins are different. A paid creator video is not automatically an independent customer review, and a scripted scene is not proof of a genuine experience. Keep the source and commercial relationship clear when preparing and presenting content.
Anatomy: UGC
Plan a natural demonstration while keeping the speaker’s role and the evidence clear.

- 01ContextIntroduce a believable product-use situation.
- 02ExperienceDescribe what the speaker can genuinely show.
- 03DemonstrationFilm the product being used, with readable details.
- 04ConclusionClose with a specific observation or next step.
A concrete example
Illustrative example · desk lamp
“Here is how I adjust the light before a video call.”A creator demonstrates the real controls at their desk.
A concrete use case makes the video approachable without inventing a customer testimonial or a measured result.
Do
- Keep the content’s origin clear.
- Show a real use case.
- Let the product remain readable.
Don't
- Present a script as an independent review.
- Invent a creator’s personal history.
- Hide the demonstration behind effects.
How Reacast uses this concept
Use UGC as a format reference in your Reacast brief. Describe the setting, delivery, and product gestures separately from any testimonial claims.
