In short
Falling momentum means less observed adoption between comparable periods. First check monitoring coverage and freshness, then examine the concept’s variations. This decline alone does not establish that the idea has become ineffective or that a brand’s sales are falling.
Check the calculation
Open the concept detail page and check the period, coverage and observed accounts. Momentum compares two seven-day windows within a stable cohort.
Data becoming unavailable can result from stale or insufficient coverage. That alone is not a measured decline.
Compare the actually covered windows, their sample counts and freshness in available information. A newly followed account is not artificially added to the historical cohort. If scope or coverage no longer supports reliable comparison, status can return to Observed rather than showing an estimated decline.
Return to the posts
Compare recent posts with earlier ones: distinct accounts, usage frequency and creative variations. A week with fewer posts can lower momentum without any change in video quality.
Example: measured decline or missing data
Fictional example: twelve analyzed posts in one covered week, then nine in the next, give −25%. That describes three fewer observed uses. The nine new videos may still be useful; inspect which accounts continue using the idea and what variations they offer.
If the second week lacks sufficient coverage, the same difference in counts no longer supports a reliable decline calculation. Start with collection and analysis status. This prevents declaring a concept in decline simply because some posts have not yet been processed.
Choose your next step
Study recent variations before reusing the idea. A decline proves neither advertising fatigue, lost sales nor market saturation. If history is missing, keep the reference and wait for comparable observations before drawing a conclusion.
Separate two decisions: exploring a less-used idea and stopping a creation that performs well for you. Observed momentum does not provide your own campaign results. Use your available measurements for the second decision without inferring profitability from concept status alone.
