In short
Emerging, Growing and Established position a concept by volume and change among followed accounts. First check whether history supports that classification; Observed signals an observation that is not yet sufficiently supported. Then use the cluster’s variations to judge its relevance to your product.
Distinguish statuses
- Emerging: at least five posts and three accounts in the latest seven days, with fewer than five posts in the previous period.
- Growing: at least five posts in the previous period, growth of at least 25% and three recent accounts.
- Established: at least five posts in both periods and three recent accounts, when the other statuses do not apply.
Check coverage
These calculations require a sufficiently covered followed cohort. A new account does not artificially add momentum. Without enough history, the interface may show unavailable data.
Read Observed when an idea exists in the catalog but its adoption cannot be qualified. Inspect the stated reason: incomplete history, stale coverage and insufficient analyses differ from a measured decline. Missing data does not become zero.
Read concrete cases
Fictional examples in a sufficiently covered cohort: six posts this week versus two previously, with three recent accounts, correspond to Emerging. Ten versus eight give +25% and can correspond to Growing. Eight versus eight can correspond to Established when another status’s conditions are not met.
If the previous week has zero posts, a concept can be Emerging while momentum is unavailable: the percentage would have a zero baseline. This is not a contradiction. Reacast separates the status rule from percentage change to avoid displaying infinite growth.
Decide using examples
Open the detail page and compare the cluster’s variations. Emerging does not guarantee a future winner; Established does not mean an idea is exhausted. Saturated additionally requires four weeks of broad, stable adoption.
The labels do not automatically prioritize your creations. An Emerging concept may poorly fit your demonstration; an Established concept may remain useful with a relevant angle. First check the members’ content, then use the status to understand their observed usage frequency.
