In short
Write short, precise messages, then time their display to the corresponding product action. Check readability at normal speed in a preview of the current edit. Text should clarify what the video shows without adding an unconfirmed promise or guaranteeing conversion.
Choose a message
Start with one idea: a use, demonstrated benefit or clear invitation to keep watching. Replace vague phrasing with a fact your product can actually support.
Edit the hook in Adapt. For other text and its duration, open the creation in Video Editor and choose Text.
Also decide when each idea becomes useful. The hook explains the opening; a detailed benefit can appear when the action demonstrates it. Showing every message in the first second forces viewers to choose what to read and can obscure what the product does.
Set the display
- Select the scene, edit the text and click outside the field to commit the change. Set its start and end within that scene.
- Wait for Auto-saved, then rebuild the montage preview. Allow enough time to read at normal speed.
Entered positions are relative to the selected scene. Check which scene it is before editing an interval, particularly after reordering scenes. To remove an unnecessary overlay, clear its text and leave the field; do not retain a contradictory message merely because it appeared in the first draft.
Example: one sentence at the right moment
Fictional example: in a four-second scene, the product is introduced for the first two seconds, then used. An identification message can cover 0:00 – 0:02, followed by a verified benefit over 0:02 – 0:04. The aim is to connect each text to the image explaining it, not fill every moment.
Read at normal speed without pausing. If you must stop the video to understand the sentence, shorten it or increase display time within the scene’s limits. Also check that text does not contradict speech or lettering already embedded in the source.
Review in context
Watch the full video with audio. Check spelling, claims and agreement with the image. If messages compete, shorten them or separate their timing. Text already embedded in the source remains distinct from editable overlays.
