The long definition
A video concept is the idea that explains why the video exists and what makes its demonstration interesting. It connects a viewer situation, a product promise, and a way of showing that promise. Several videos can express the same concept through different creators or edits.
A format is the presentation style, such as UGC or POV; an angle is the particular benefit emphasised. A concept combines those choices into a coherent idea. Similar-looking videos may still have different concepts if they answer different questions.
Anatomy: Concept

- 01AudienceIdentify whose situation the video addresses.

- 04AdaptationReplace reference details with your own product facts.
A concrete example
Illustrative example · compact luggage
“Pack a weekend into a bag that fits under the desk.”Show the items, pack them, and place the bag under the desk.
The concept joins a familiar constraint to a visible demonstration; a different opening can create a variant without changing the core idea.
Do
- State the idea in one sentence.
- Define a visible demonstration.
- Keep product facts specific.
Don't
- Use a format name as the whole idea.
- Infer sales from a popular concept.
- Group videos only by appearance.
