In short
Change scene order on the timeline to adjust your video’s narrative, then wait for saving. Text stays attached to its scenes, while music may no longer align with the same actions. Rebuild the preview and check transitions, wording and audio.
Move a scene
- Open the project in Video Editor. On the timeline, drag the scene to its new position.
- Select it after moving to check its media, duration and text. Wait for Auto-saved before leaving the page.
You can also select a scene with the keyboard and use Alt + left or right arrow to move it one position. Then check thumbnail order and labels. The selected scene is the one whose properties are displayed; selecting it alone does not move it.
Understand the move
Order changes subsequent scenes’ starting points. Overlay timing stays relative to its scene. A background audio track may therefore no longer line up with the same product action after moving.
A regeneration lock does not guarantee the entire composition remains identical after reordering.
Moving does not create new media or automatically shorten scenes. If pacing also needs adjustment, use Trim on the relevant scene and separately check its duration and starting point in the source file. The project remains limited to thirty seconds in total.
Example: bring the benefit forward
Fictional example: an edit introduces the product for three seconds, shows the result for two, then explains the action for four. Moving the result first changes starting points, but text stays attached to its scenes. Review the sentences as a new sequence.
A message such as “Here is the result” may become unclear before the demonstration. Edit it or choose an order that preserves your intended logic. Then rebuild the preview and listen to transitions: music and source sounds can make a move more noticeable than thumbnails alone suggest.
Review transitions
Rebuild the preview and watch transitions between scenes. Check the opening–demonstration–ending sequence, then text and audio. If saving fails or reports a version conflict, resolve that message before continuing export.
