In short
Select a timeline scene to access its settings, then lock scenes whose media you want to preserve. Wait for saving before regenerating another passage. The lock blocks AI regeneration for that scene but allows manual corrections and does not replace version history.
Select a scene
Open a project in Video Editor and select a scene on the timeline. Tools show that scene’s settings: text, media, duration and audio.
A project assembles several scenes in a defined order. Each scene keeps its media and text overlays; the background audio belongs to the montage. Before changing a setting, check the active scene’s name and position, especially when thumbnails look similar.
Use the lock
- Enable the lock on the scene you want to preserve, then wait for Auto-saved. A locked scene cannot be regenerated until you unlock it.
- To work on another scene, select it and open Regenerate with AI if available. Review references and cost before confirming.
On the timeline, Lock becomes Locked when active; an L marker appears on the thumbnail. To allow regeneration again, use Locked to unlock, then wait for saving. Regenerate with AI stays disabled while the selected scene is locked.
Example: correct only the demonstration
Fictional example: your video has an opening, demonstration and ending. The opening and ending are satisfactory, but the product is poorly represented in the middle. Lock the two satisfactory scenes, select the demonstration, then prepare its regeneration if the available mode permits it.
If the only issue is a typo, use Text rather than regenerate media. The lock does not prevent that manual correction. After any change, check Auto-saved and rebuild the preview to judge the current project rather than an older video still displayed.
Check after regeneration
Regeneration replaces the targeted media; it does not automatically re-edit your entire project. Check transitions to neighboring scenes, text and audio, then rebuild the preview. A lock is not version history or a restoration feature.
