In short
The Shopify connection reads the product catalog without accessing orders or customers. You choose records to import and review their details, prices and images before use. Distinguish the synchronized catalog from creative records saved in Reacast, where local corrections are protected.
Understand the data read
The connection requests read_products to access the product catalog and prepare its information and images. It does not read orders or customers. The Shopify authorization screen remains the reference for access requested during installation.
The catalog prepares available names, descriptions, categories, fixed prices, currencies and product links. Missing information is not invented. When price differs across variants, it can remain blank for review; do not interpret that absence as a zero price.
Review before creation
- In My Products, choose a product from the Shopify catalog. Review the name, description and available images.
- Complete Reacast-specific information, including benefits, audience and keywords. Up to ten JPEG, PNG or WebP images, each at most 20 MiB, can be accepted after validation.
Shopify tags can suggest up to four distinct keywords when selecting a new product. Confirm relevant terms, remove others and add terms if needed. Tags do not establish that your product has a particular benefit: review the other fields independently.
Example: synchronized catalog, reviewed record
Fictional example: Shopify provides a mug name, description and two photos. In Reacast, you refine wording for creative work and add a use-case keyword. Synchronization should not simply overwrite that local correction; still review the record after a significant product change in the store.
If a product disappears from the Shopify catalog, it can leave the import selector without deleting the creative record or existing projects. That distinction separates sale availability, store access and a creation’s existence. Check the active product before preparing a new adaptation.
Distinguish catalog and record
The catalog mirror does not replace your reviewed records. Local edits are protected and projects retain their saved product context. Disconnecting Shopify does not automatically delete every record already created; manage those through available product workflows.
